We understand that some people would rather renew their driver’s license than sit in training all day. Some Owners see the expense of training their personnel as only slightly preferred to taxes and overhead.

HISTORY
CICTI was founded in 2012 by James (JJ) Jenkins. JJ is a Certified Industrial Hygienist and has been the Owner of Jenkins Risk Management, LLC since 2007. He has a B.S. in Environmental Sciences from the Evergreen State College and completed the MSPH (Masters of Science in Public Health) Program in Industrial Hygiene at the University of South Carolina. Jenkins Risk Management (JRM) provides infection control, industrial hygiene and life safety consulting services nationwide to Healthcare Owners, Architects, Engineers, General Contractors, Construction Managers and various Subcontractors. JRM also provides indoor air quality, human resources, utility shutdown and emergency response support for events related to the healthcare functional environment. JRM’s expertise has been honed through supporting hundreds of healthcare projects ranging from Owner-internally executed to those executed by 14 of the top 20 healthcare GC’s in the country.

JJ is a member of the American Board of Industrial Hygiene (ABIH), the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), the American Society for Healthcare Engineering (ASHE), the North Carolina Healthcare Engineers Association (NCHEA) and the Florida Healthcare Engineers Association (FHEA). JJ has presented at several national and state level healthcare construction related events with consistent enthusiastic response from attendees.
In 2012, JJ founded The Construction Infection Control Training Institute (CICTI or ‘sick-tee’). Leveraging JRM‘s experience, CICTI provides training and Certification programs for Infection Control Risk Assessment (ICRA) to contractors, A/E firms and Owner Staff. CICTI’s training facility is located in Fort Mill, SC, 14 miles from Charlotte’s Airport. CICTI also conducts many onsite courses nationwide. To date, CICTI has trained and Certified thousands of people nationwide in hopes of facilitating a safer Environment of Care for patients, staff, and hospital operations AND effectively managed risk for vested parties during construction, maintenance and emergency response scenarios.
WHY CICTI
CICTI trainers have extensive experience supporting hundreds of healthcare projects nationwide. They are not professors, but are professionals. Our trainers have experience supporting Owners, Designers, and Contractors. Having ‘seen’ infection control through the perspective of the various vested parties, CICTI has a holistic view of the objectives, needs, and perspective of the array of entities involved in complex healthcare projects.
CICTI Certification Programs are uniquely focused on delivering hands-on, comprehensive training and Certifications in Infection Control during Healthcare construction, renovation, and maintenance. CICTI was created to fill an identified gap in cost-effective, comprehensive, hands-on Infection Control Training targeted for specific audiences – right down to the worker in the field. Existing commercially available training programs are mostly restricted to the 20,000 feet level with generic protocols and broad concept based approaches. At CICTI, we emphasize hands-on use and proper implementation of scaled control strategies during healthcare renovations in our onsite mock-up rooms.
